Lake Roberts

One of three man-made lakes in the Gila National Forest, Lake Roberts is nearby to The Wilderness Lodge and provides a great spot for hiking, fishing, bird watching and more.

Part of Lake Robert's special allure is the simple sight of more than 70 acres of deep-blue water amid our arid landscape. Build in the early 1960s, Lake Roberts has become a frequent haunt for area wildlife and nature lovers.

For fishermen, the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF) stocks the lake with rainbow trout in fall, winter and spring months. Check the weekly fishing report for fishing information on Lake Roberts and familiarize yourself with New Mexico's fishing regulations.
